Dear Mrs. Jenkins,

The first poem, If, told about the virtues of balancing two things like," If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue," and in the end, you will become a great person.

The other poem was the Falling Star. I believe that this poem meant that opportunities in life are like shooting stars, because you have to take them as fast as possible.

I choose the Falling Star, because I think that I can easily connect with the meaning. I also think that even though the poem was small, the poet used a lot of sophisticated poet's craft.

Yours truly:
SH

''If'' is a poem about what you have to do to do to get through life, learn from your struggles and if you do something bad start over and try to fix it.

''Falling Star'' is about a star, but it's not there forever in fact, it's there for about 2 seconds so you have to look quickly.

I liked "If" better because I thought it was very meaningful.

The poem "If" is about a poet talking about some ifs in life that he/she wants to happen.
The poem "The Falling Star" is about a poet who claimed they saw a star slide down the sky.
I like "If" better because I think it has more meaning than "The Falling Star".

if is about: all these thangs you could do with your life but you don't.

falling star is about: life is shooting star it sends a real messaege to you life go by so fast you grow up so fast it's hard to hold on to and you can't be bought or sold in life.

I pick falling star because: it sends a true and real messaege.

"If" is about someone who is talking about the ifs in life.

"Falling Star" is about someone who sees a shooting star, and they wish on it.

I chose "If" because it was more meaningful to me, and I think it goes a little bit deeper than "Falling Star".

The poem "If" is a poem that is pretty much just asking you a bunch of questions.

The poem "The Falling Star" is about a shooting star that is going across the sky.

I choose the poem "The Falling Star" because it is more meaningful to me. I also liked it because the overall theme was that you should really pay attention to the things that only come once in your life and you should treasure them. One other reason I liked this poem is because it was short and upbeat when I sung it in my head.

If: If is about a dad who is telling his son that he should not be like all the others, and be himself.

Falling Star:Falling Star is about a little girl who saw a falling star drop over the north, and that it was a special star that she could wish on, but it was gone.

I likeed If better because the dad was telling his son that you are to do right, and not what others do.

Dear Mrs. Jenkins,

I think that If is about how life can be wonderful and if you can make it wonderful without getting carried away.

I think that The Falling Star is about something beautiful and how sometimes in life some wonderful things can be to good to be true.

I personally think that If is the better poem in my mind. I can connect with that hard feeling when if you can do something to make it wonderful without getting carried away. This poem reminds me about
2 Peter 3:17: "You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, be on your guard so that you are not carried away by the error of unprincipled men and fall from your own steadfastness." I love this verse and it really reminds me of this poem.

"If" is about being confident and strong i think it is called " if_" because in the poem it is always asking if.

" Falling Star" is about a star falling from the sky and it is explaining how it is falling and what it looks like.

I chose " Falling Star " because i really liked how it explained what it looked like when it looked like it was falling down.

Falling Star is about a star that people make wishes on as it soars through the sky.

If is an encourging poem and tells you to listen to your self and not act more important than anyone else, because we are all important.

It was tough to pick one, because they were both such good poems. I ended up picking If because there was more of meaning and had a lot feeling and emotion.

"The Falling Star " is about a girl that sees the most beautiful star that she had ever seen, and she was sad because she knew that in a minute it would be gone.

"If" is about a dad telling his son that if he can do all of these things, then when he grows up, he will be a man.

I like "If" because it is a very positive poem. I also like it because it is longer and more detailed than "Falling Star".

1. I thought the first poem was about a shouting star that you get only one chance to dream on it and it's so beautiful you could not sell it or keep it . 2. The second poem is about "Ifs" and how you only get one chance and how you discover the world freely if you do those things and be like that. The poem that I chose was " If " because I understood what it was trying to say and what was going on.

“If” is about, when other people are being not nice, or challenging you to do something bad, stand up for yourself, and do the right thing.

“The Falling Star” is about, nature isn’t made to buy or sell; it is made for admiring.

I liked “The Falling Star”, because the meaning of the poem was clearer to me, and I have had camping experiences in the mountains with shooting stars. I also think that “The Falling Star” really mint the shooting star, it just looked like the star was falling.

Falling star was about someone who saw a star but did not jump at the oppertunity to make wishes and then it disapears so you need to jump at the oppertunity because what comes must go.

If was a very confusing but it was about someone who needed to believe in their self, think positive thought and hold their head high so that someone can move on with life.

I liked Falling star better because it made more sense to me and it made me think about stars and how when I see a shooting star that you have to see it or it will dissapear. It was shortest poem of all of the poems but it was one of my favorites.

Dear Mrs Jenkins
The Falling Star is about a person who must love stars and he is talking about everything great about them.If is about the author telling someone they should not do anything bad and you should treat others the way you want to be treated. My favorite poem is the Falling Star because I really like seeing stars and making a wish and having it come true. From Ryan

I think If is about how when you grow up it is not about looking older like a grownup, but it is acting like one and staying strong through the many things you face in life.

I think The Falling Star is about someone seeing a shooting star and looking at it in a new perspective. Like how you should not hold on to simple items forever, but you should keep your most special items forever.

I like The Falling Star the best because I can relate to this. When I was younger I never wanted to give anything of mine away, but now I have learned that you can not keep everything of yours forever.

The first poem "if" is about you not giving up and being your own person.

The second poem "Falling Star" is about a falling star in the sky, but you have to look at it fast or you'll miss it.

I like "If" better, because It had more meaning to it then Falling Star.

"If" is about a father telling his son about everything he can accomplish in life and how he can become a good person.

I believe that "The Falling Star" is about all the wishes and hopes of the world, and how only some of them can be fulfilled.

I had a really hard time deciding which one I liked better. Both of them are very meaningful. I chose "The Falling Star" because it made me think about all my wishes and hopes and how I can fulfill them.

If- is about a bunch of "what if" possibilities and what to do said by a parent to their son.

Falling Star is about the shooting star that soars across the sky and and how it has little time to wish and gaze at it.

I liked If- better because it was more deep and it had more meaning to me than Falling Star. I also liked the way it felt and the rhythm was good, too.

If was a poem about keeping on going, even when no one else can, even when you're insulted, keep on going. Why be angry when we only have a certain amount of time to live? Why not live the life of a party? Don't be angry.

The falling star is about stopping and looking around every once in a while, and seeing the world around you because if you miss it, you've just missed it, and you can't change that.

I chose If because I fight a lot, and this is an opportunity for me to learn to just be happy because nobody knows how much longer we have.

The poem "If" is a guide to becoming a man of character.

"The Falling Star" is about a person who watches a shooting star and seems to be sad that it happens so fast.

@Unforgettable Stories
The first poem, If is about the things you do to get through life, and it tells you to learn from your mistakes to become a man.

The second poem, the Falling Star is about some one who saw a star slide down the sky, that was only made for wishing on, but when the star disapears it is always going to be gone, so you should enjoy it while it is still there.

I liked If because it had a good meaning to it, and it helps you through your struggles.

Sincerely,
Campbell

I chose MtoS... because compared to CS it was a lot more meaningful to me.

I chose CatB because I liked that it was more like a story, you don't usually see poems like that, and I thought it was more entertaining.

Poetry #5

I chose the poem Mother to Son because the meaning meant a lot more to me and the message was so great it was really easy to pick. Choosing shoes needed a little more umph to it. It to me was kind of a little more boring than the first poem, Mother to Son.

The second set of poems was twice as easy because I did not like If because I did not understand the meaning or message and the other poem Casey at the Bat had a meaning I could understand. The meaning meant more to me since I could understand it.

I liked Mother to Son better than Choosing Shoes because it had a real meaning, and the mother was saying that life is not easy and there are bumps and bruises along the way, and that you can't just whiz right through everything. Choosing Shoes, to me didn't have a meaning to me as much but maybe to others it did.
