I think "Choosing Shoes" is better than "Mother to Son" because I could get the deeper meaning of it rather than Mother to Son, also because I could visualize what was happening.

I like Choosing Shoes better than Mother to Son because in Mother to Son it is coming out and telling you: HEY! LIFE IS HARD!! But in Choosing Shoes it has a hidden meaning that tells you something unique.

I like If better than Casey at the Bat because Casey at the Bat is a little bit more childish and fun, but it has a meaning, which makes it hard to keep your emotions on one thing: the purpose. In If it kind of tells us that you can do things well without getting greedy. But it tells us that in a sad manor, so that we can keep up with what the poet is trying to describe.

"Mother to Son vs. Choosing Shoes."
"Casey at the Bat vs. If--"

I chose "If--" against "Casey at the Bat" because "Casey at the Bat" was a little to confusing to me and it was difficult to invision the poem.

I chose "Choosing Shoes"instead of "Mother to Son" because "Choosing Shoes has more of a meaning it than "Mother to Son" That is my opinion

I think out of Mother to Son and Choosing Shoes I liked Choosing better because instead of shoes they could be talking about a lot of different things like people, or personalities.

Out of If and Casey at the Bat I like Casey at The Bat more because I think it was more interesting, and more fun to read.

Dear Mrs. Jenkins,

I choose Mother to Son. I think this poem is better than Choosing Shoes, because I believe that both of these poems have the same meaning of life is not easy, and you don't get what you want all the time. But, think that Langston Hughes worded this poem with an actual person talking to another person. In Choosing Shoes, the person was just kink of talking at the reader, and there really wasn't anyone to listen in the poem. Plus, I think that Mother to Son had a better use of Poet's Craft.

I choose Choosing Shoes from Mother to Son, because I thought that Choosing Shoes had a good beat to it. Also I thought that Choosing Shoes was more interesting.

I choose Casey at the Bat instead of If. I thought it was better because it had a more interesting topic to it. Also I can relate to it because I play Soft ball, and I know what it is like and what they are talking about in it.

I chose the poem Mother to Son over Chooseing Shoes becauseI felt like it had more meaning to it than Chooseing Shoes did but Chooseing Shoes had a lot of meaning too.
In this game I chose the poem Casey at the Bat over If because it teaches a lesson to the people who read it and that is the one that you think is the best isn't always the best so don't critusise people who aren't good because sometimes the bad player is good and the good player is bad.

Between the poems "Mother to Son" and "Choosing Shoes" I like "Choosing Shoes" because I really like shoes, and I like it because of how the poem has a story, like when it said what shoes she wanted and dreamed of, but reality is that she had to pick the working shoes, and the ones that were more boring. Where as in "Mother to Son" I thought it was great, but it was a little harder to understand in the southern voice and it also said the same thing in the begging as it did in the end. Over all I liked the topic of "Choosing Shoes" and the story that in life you aren't always going to get the fancy and pretty stuff, and that the working shoes aren't as interesting, but they work and you CAN live with them.

Between these two poems "Casey at the Bat" and "If" I choose "Casey at the Bat" because it tells you that the people that think they are all that are like, I am not going to take that ball it's too easy and wait for the last one, and they can't make it! It tells you that you can't think you are more important than others because if you do it can turn out surprising, and you can be like, wow he is better than I thought. Then like as example in the story with Casey, and HE even strikes out. Where in "If" it was worded in a more adult way and it was more confusing. If you were an adult and could really understand what they were saying I am sure it was a great message, but right now at my age I just couldn't understand what they were trying to say.

Mother to Son vs. Choosing Shoes
I choose out of those two "Choosing Shoes", because it had a better meaning and it was a fun poem to read.

Casey at the Bat vs. If
I choose out of those two "Casey at the Bat", because it has a surprise at the end and I like surprises. You think Casey is going to win the game but he strikes out at the end.

I like mother to son better then chooseing shoe's because chooseing shoe's is about shoes moslty to me. but mother to son is about opsticles will be thourn at you will be under purprusre at times and be made fun of but you need to bounce back like when afootball plaer makes a mistaike he bounce's back or a base ball player makes a bad pictch or thorww he get's over it and learn from your mistake's and she's saying i will love you nomatter what.

I like if better than casey at bat because casey at bat annoy's me because casey thinks to much of himself and he think he's a great hitter like don mattinling or babe ruth or mickey manle. if is about doing stuff well for no trophy or prize's like if come last i'm fine like that

I chose "Casey at the bat", over "if", because i am a sports guy, and that can teach you a lessen that there is know best player. I think it was fun to read!!!

I chose "Mother to son" over choesing shoes, because I am not all over shoes like some people (girls). I just think "Mother to son" was better.

I choose choosing shoes over mother to son because mother to son is just about a mother telling her son life isnt easy. Choosing shoes i thought had a bigger meaning to it. Choosing shoes could have meant something other than just shoes it could have meant other things such as life expierences, and other things.

I choose Casey at the Bat over if~, because to me if didnt make any sense, it just told things like, "if~ a monster crawled under you bed." I thought it was boring. And Casey at the Bat was a fun, and kind of funny poem. To me it was one of the best poems i have ever read.

Mother to Son vs. Choosing Shoes

I chose Choosing Shoes because, Mother Son has a lot of slang and that makes it harder to read and find a meaning. Choosing Shoes also takes some thinking and pushing thinking to a deeper level.

Casey at Bat vs. If

I choose If because, it has a meaning and Casey at Bat doesn't end happily ever after and is CASEY LOST BOO WHOO!!

Mother to Son & Choosing Shoes
I liked Mother to Son better, because the meaning meant more to me; when going through a hard time don’t give up and sit down, keep on going even if it is not easy. I thought that the meaning of Choosing Shoes was when you grow up; you will not be able to do as many fun things as when you were a young kid. I am not an adult yet, so I can’t relate to that poem right now.

Casey at the Bat & If
I liked If better, because it is more serious about life. It is about how to become a man of integrity, and how to be a better person. I thought that the meaning of If stood out more than Casey at the Bat’s meaning. Casey at the Bat was less serious, and more of a silly poem.

I choose "Choseing Shoes" over "Mother to Son" for many reasons. One of those reasons was that compared to "Mother to Son" it felt more like a poem. Also because it was more, me. The last reson I liked better was because I can conect to the voice's fellings.

I choose "Casey at the Bat" over "If" for many resons also. The first reason is that it is more fun and fast and realistic. Another reason is because to me "If" felt like I was just being told a lot of things but "Casey at the Bat" sounded like a bedtime story. I like it a lot better than "If"

I like ''Choosing Shoes'' better than ''Mother to Son'' because Choosing shoes was more exciting than Mother to Son. I also like it better because it had more of a meaning. I also thought that it was a fun poem, and Mother to Son was just talking about how life is hard.

I like ''Casey at the Bat'' better than ''If'', I like it better because it was more fun, and it was more like a story. I also liked it better because it was more fun to read than If. And If to me just kept listing things, and Casey the Bat'' was more like a story.

I think Choosing Shoes was a better poem because first of all I thought it had an intriguing rhythm going on and second, I think that if you look deep inside the poem it tells you a lot more about what meets the eye. Because poems always have their "hidden treasure."

I think Casey at the Bat was better because you would always think the good guy wins, but they don't and it tells me that you don't always win in life. It really was a strong and deep poem and I could choose Casey at the Bat immediately between If-.

I choose "Choosing Shoes" because it is more fun and it is like you are shopping for shoes and saying what all the shoes that you could get. i did not choose mother to son because it is a little boring and it was not as fun to read and i had to re-read a lot to get it and it was a little emotional.

I choose "if" because it was fun to read and it had a lot of inferences like if you could do this but you would also have to do this. I did not choose "Casey at the bat" because it was a long and it was like a story which is OK but i think it would need more personality.

I choose "Mother to Son" because it was more meaningful than "Choosing Shoes".

I choose "If" over "Casey at the Bat" because it is more meaningful and Casey at the Bat is kind of boring.

Between the poems "Choosing Shoes" and "Mother To Son" I like Mother To Son because it had tension and confidence mixed together. “Mother To Son” was a lot more meaningful and enjoyable to me. I didn't like "Choosing Shoes" as much because I thought that it didn't have a point to the story.

Between the poems “Casey At The Bat” and “If” I would have to choose “If.” I liked it better because it wasn’t childish or funny. "If" was more serious. I didn’t like “Casey At The Bat” because I didn’t get the whole meaning behind the story.“If” is now my favorite poem. I think that “If” will win this round.

@Unforgettable stories
Out of Mother to Son and Choosing shoes I liked Mother to Son because it told you not every thing is a piece of cake in life. Also Choosing shoes does have a hidden meaning, but I think the meaning of Mother to Son is a better meaning than Choosing Shoes.

Out of Casey at the Bat and If I liked Casey at the Bat, because it was fun to read, and it taught you, you don't need to win all the time. Also If is just telling you, if you can do something, not you should do something.

I choose "Mother to Son" over "Choosing Shoes" because I thought it was more meaningful to me, that a mother is telling her son that life is going to be hard, but you have to keep persevering through life.

I choose "Casey at the Bat" over "If" because I like how it tells that you should never act cocky any time in life, and that you should also be a good sport in every game you play. Also to try your hardest.
